Intervision Foods’ beginnings stretch back to 1983, when two of its Managing Directors launched their international trading careers with a small Atlanta exporter. After several years of gaining industry experience, in 1992 Jim Wayt and Darek Musierowicz successfully created the meat and poultry export division for International Multifoods based in Atlanta. It was here that the formation of our current Intervision Foods team began.
International Multifoods quickly became one of the primary suppliers to the emerging Russian market, with shipments of approximately 25,000 MT per month of poultry, meat and further processed products. In addition, the team was able to significantly grow the Far East, Eastern Europe, Caribbean/Latin America and African Markets. In 1996, export sales reached over $300 million.
In 1997, the International Multifoods Atlanta office was acquired by Louis Dreyfus Corporation (LDC) which became the Atlanta Meat and Livestock Division. The Atlanta office executed the first shipments of poultry by break bulk vessel and containers to Cuba after the embargo was lifted in 2001. To date, Intervision Foods maintains a strong presence in this market for exports of meat and poultry products.
In 2005, the Atlanta office was given the chance to organize a management buy out from LDC. With this opportunity seized and Intervision Foods formed, our team has continued to build and enhance its global marketing presence into our present day business. Having worked together for over ten years, our core team with its knowledge, experience and relationships offers significant advantages for our suppliers and customers that are unmatched in the industry.
